See you tonight at The Melody Ballroom for the 6th annual school auction. Don’t forget to bring your catalog, it is your ticket in. Festivities start at 6:00 p.m. The Melody Ballroom is located at 615 SE Alder. Take Martin Luther King Drive south to SE Alder Street. On street parking only.Volunteer Corner: Thanks to those of you who are volunteering tonight. Please check in with Irma. To all who have helped make this event happen a big "THANK YOU". Childcare Information: There will be an "Express Childcare Checkout" line at the end of the evening for those of you using IED Childcare. Kids need to be picked up no later than 10:30. Don’t forget to get your sticker to affix to your catalog. You will need to show it to Mir and the IED staff when picking up your little ones. Thank you again Mir and the IED gang. We love you guys!Sign Up Item News: Get to the auction on time to sign up for your parties of choice. First come, first served. We are expecting them to fill up fast. IRVINGTON SCHOOL GARDEN NEEDS YOU! Thanks to countless hours of many volunteers last Fall and this past month, the new garden boxes were built, placed and leveled, and the initial plumbing for the irrigation system was placed. Wow! But there is still more to do to have our garden ready for Spring planting! The list includes: staking the boxes with rebar to support sides, bracing pipes to boxes, installing faucets on each box, numbering boxes, filling boxes with soil and compost. If you can help with any of these projects, or know of an organization that needs volunteer hours (Scouts, etc.) please contact Judy Cappleman (jspirit26@aol.com) or Cathy Percich (cpercich@pps.k12.or.us). Our first GARDEN WORK PARTY will be Sunday, MARCH 16 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Come and join in the fun! We will tackle whatever jobs still need doing. Donuts and coffee will be served. Please bring your own gloves, a shovel or a hammer or wrench, and a wheelbarrow if you can. Thanks! SAVE THE DATE: The annual Spaghetti Dinner is coming soon. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS TIME BEGINS: Don’t forget to set your clocks AHEAD one hour Saturday night. 6th - 8th Grade Math Information Night: Tuesday, March 11 from 6:00-6:30 p.m. Library. Parents/guardians of students in grade 6-8 are invited to attend. Information on algebra, connected math and more. What math curriculum is available at Irvington? How will students be assigned to math classes? Session lead by Principal MacLeod. Please stay for the PTA meeting immediately following. March PTA Meeting Tuesday, March 11 @ 6:30pm-8:00pm, in the Library. Agenda items include: 6-8th grade class information + updates (math curriculum, SBS), pre-K update for 08-09, teacher staffing for 08-09, TAG update, auction success and more. Please join us. CAFETERIA NEWS Thank you all for your efforts to catch up on overdue lunch accounts. Unfortunately there is still a balance of over $400 past due. Please check your balances due and make a payment to the cafeteria as soon as possible.
